The base computer with this package will do a terrific job. There is really very little to be gained (with X-Plane or MSFS X) by upgrading the processor, video card, RAM, power supply, etc above what the base system comes with. We only offer these options because we have been asked to do so by our customers. You can buy the base unit without feeling guilty for not upgrading anything. X-Plane and MSFS X really won't run much (if any) faster.
We now are offering Intel's new Kaby Lake processors (7600K and 7700K). Kaby Lake, found in our Titanium System is Intel's newest technology and packs some new goodies like USB 3.1, DDR4 memory, and processor clock speeds hitting up to 4.6GHz. With the i7 7700K at 4.6GHz and the i5 7600K at 4.4GHz, we have to go with an after-market high-end cooler to maintain those speeds. Otherwise, thermal throttling occurs. In other words, the CPU will slow down when it hits 90 degrees C to allow itself to cool down. We use a cooler that has four copper heat pipes that contact the CPU directly. Aluminum coolers just can't match the efficiency of copper. This allows for lower CPU temps and a quieter system, since the fans do not have to work as hard. And, the way we have the system designed, the heat from this cooler blows right out of the back of the case.Mass storage is typically the bottleneck in just about every system. So, how do we reduce this bottleneck? We do this by providing an SSD now as standard equipment. That means Windows will load in seconds, not minutes. Anything that is disk-intensive will be much faster as SSDs are so much faster than regular hard drives. Also, SSDs rarely fail. So, your data is safer on an SSD. If you need the additional capacity, we still offer a 2TB Hybrid drive for the same amount as the SSD.
