This DVD/CD Reader/Writer is perfect for new Macs that do not come with an optical drive. You do not need to plug this unit into a power adapter, either! It gets all of the power it needs from the USB port. This unit has been tested to work installing X-Plane and even for passing the validation check at startup (having DVD1 in the drive to prove ownership).
It is small and compact...not much bigger than the DVD itself.
